a-s-l is a female artist living in the 21st century, trying to create art in a time of ongoing genocides and wars.
this influences her way of seeing the world and embeds her work into an ongoing struggle with the moving image and ways of storytelling. she is interested in disfunctional systems, empowering strategies of appropriation and DIY-tools, as well as autodidactic ways of fabulation.
her body of work spins around film, film editing, performance, writing and photography.

in her work she often asks questions of belonging, while relating to a feminist film practice, where she critically engages with dominant power structures and ways of perception. she writes texts predominantly in german and on the fringes of her german origin, critically engaging with and researching nationalist tendencies. by transforming the past events into new scenarios and connecting them with emotions gives back autonomy for possible futures.

together with laura weissenberger silva she founded the baubo crew, a female film production collective.
